DoorDash “Delivering” [spec]
The Idea
It was late one night. I was seven months pregnant, sunk into the couch watching my weekly show when it hit—my first craving. Nachos. Urgent, undeniable, and not a chip in sight. I wasn’t leaving the cocoon of that couch, so I grabbed my phone and opened DoorDash. And there they were, as clear as the plus sign on my pregnancy test: nachos. I giggled. My husband glanced over—“What’s so funny?” “Oh, you’ll see,” I said. I tracked the order like a hawk until our doorbell chimed; I practically leaped off the couch. We demolished those nachos, completely satisfying my first pregnancy craving.
(My other frequent craving was sushi. But of course I couldn’t have that… until the baby was here!)
And it wasn’t just nachos that got delivered that night. A spark did, too—how to share this wildly common, deeply personal experience. Which brings us to our couple, expecting their first child, and the joy that comes with the delivery of every kind. Let’s tap into the joys of delivery.

The approach
Pregnancy has a funny way of turning the smallest cravings into main characters. One minute you’re peacefully sitting on the couch, and the next, tacos are not just a want, they are a deeply urgent plot point. For Delivering, I wanted to capture that very specific, slightly chaotic, and tender season of waiting for a baby, where every craving feels dramatic, every delivery feels like a tiny rescue mission, and love often looks like someone quietly opening the DoorDash app before you even have to ask.
I leaned into the humor and relatability of pregnancy cravings, but wanted the heart of the story to be about partnership. From the couch to the hospital room, this concept is less about food arriving at the door, and more about the people who show up for us in the moments that matter most.
